Truth Nugget 2: “The Parable of the Sower”
Mark 4:15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. NKJV
Words are seeds sown by speaking. Words are sown everywhere and every day. These words or seeds are looking for soil so they can express themselves. Your heart is the soil these seeds grow in. If you receive the words that you are hearing, they will grow in your soil. If you don’t receive them in your heart, they won’t grow. If they do not grow, they don’t form roots, and they do not become part of you. Now it is easy for Satan to steal the Word if it is not attached to you.
To value the Word is to make the Word part of our very being. To do this we must meditate on the Word until the Revelation of that Word is part of who we are. When this happens, Satan cannot just come and take it from us, because it has become part of who you are.
Truth Nuggets from this:
- Having “heard” doesn’t make what you “heard” yours. The seed is still on top of the soil of your heart; not “in” your soil.
- The only way the seed or Word can be stolen is when it is on top of the soil.
- Hebrews 4:12a: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,” (You need the Word to be quick, powerful and sharp.)
