Truth Nugget 3: “The Parable of the Sower”
Mark 4:17a “And they have no root in themselves,” Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. NKJV
It’s the root system of any plant or tree that determines its strength. Hearing, hearing, and hearing determines the depth and strength of the seed of the Word in your heart. It’s the root system that determines how you finish in a storm or test and trial.
17b”and so, endure but for a time:”
When the word hasn’t taken root in the soil of your heart, you will fall during a storm. It’s just a matter of time. Roots bring stability to our lives. We need this when the storms of life arrive.
17c “afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
Afflictions and persecutions are the only two storms of life you will have to deal with. Afflictions are the circumstances you have to deal with, and persecutions are the people problems you have to deal with.
Mark 4:20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” NKJ
- This can be you. Embrace the Word. Make it part of your life. Let the roots go down deep into the soil of your heart.
- “But the seed planted in the good earth represents those who hear the Word, embrace it, and produce a harvest beyond their wildest dreams.”
